Diplomas are given to those who complete a program of study at a technical school or community college. A specialized topic must be studied in order to earn a diploma. Most students go onto better jobs and higher education once they earn their diploma. Agricultural engineering combines the disciplines of electrical, mechanical, civil and chemical engineering and applies them to agricultural processing and production. An agricultural engineer has the goal of increasing the sustainability and efficiency of agricultural techniques.

Students will be able to: (general competences) analyse, synthesise and envisage solutions and consequences, master research methods, procedures and processes, develop critical and self-critical assessment in the field of agriculture, apply knowledge in practical agricultural management work, perform professional work autonomously, develop communication skills, particularly in the international environment, demonstrate a capacity for ethical reflection and a commitment to professional ethics, demonstrate cooperativeness and work in a group (including in an international environment) etc., (subject-specific competences) demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the foundation(s) and history (development) of the first-cycle professional higher education programme Management in the agro-food sector and rural development, resolve specific problems through the application of scientific methods and procedures, demonstrate coherent mastery of basic knowledge, integrate knowledge from various areas and application, link thematically different sets of knowledge in the field of agronomic and animal husbandry technology (including the pertaining areas of processing) with the aforementioned knowledge of agrarian economy, management and IT in agriculture and rural development, ensure an appropriate professional and scientific basis in the area of professional specialisation, resolve specific problems in the agro-food sector and in the countryside, place new information and interpretations in the context of the fundamental discipline (profession), understand the general structure of the fundamental discipline Management in the agro-food sector and its links to sub-disciplines (Theory of decision-making, Marketing management) and related disciplines (Management in agriculture, Information technology, Rural development), understand and apply critical analysis methods and development theories, and apply them in solving specific work problems, develop skills in the application of knowledge in a specific technical field.
