At the end of their training, forestry technicians are trained to plan, monitor and manage work in forest production; to carry out work and tasks in the cultivation and protection of forests to a high standard; to plan wildlife management to a high standard; to market forestry and timber products; to draw up harvesting plans to a high standard; to supervise work in a forest work site; to manage forests responsibly and to obtain dendrometric parameters and to use forestry machinery and equipment.

Certificate holders will be able to: plan, lead and monitor work in forest production and activities, perform high-quality work and assignments in cultivating and protecting forests, ensuring the ecological and social functions of forests and in forest tree propagation, perform high-quality planning of wild animal management, market forest wood products, produce high-quality felling and hauling plans, supervise work in a forest work site and keep records of work done, responsibly keep order in forests and obtain dendrometric parameters, use forestry machinery and equipment, while observing the regulations on safety at work, cooperate in a group and communicate in writing and orally with co-workers, experts and clients, using the basic professional terminology in the field of forestry, communicate with co-workers, clients and others in organising work, carrying out specific tasks and solving problems, use modern information and communication technology to communicate and to plan and organise cost-effective work and work procedures in the professional field, protect and rationally use natural energy sources and raw materials in performing forestry work. Elective: selecting, sorting and mechanically processing wood and semi-products and cutting logs on machines for primary timber processing, performing high-quality planning for tree felling and hauling of forest timber varieties, obtaining seeds and producing forest tree seedlings, familiarity with forest flora and fauna and ecosystems of the forest landscape. Certificate holders supplement their key vocational knowledge and abilities with key general knowledge in line with national standards.
