Learning outcomes
Define and describe horticultural plants and production practices/cultivation characteristics. Critically assess the role of horticulture in agriculture and the overall national economy. Recognize and select specific production and processing technologies in horticulture. Choose and apply the basic methods and concepts of planning and management in a horticultural organization. Differentiate the specifics of the production/cultivation of plants outdoors and in protected areas and explain their advantages. Assess the state and development trends of modern horticultural technologies. Identify the most important production and organizational problems in horticultural production in Croatia and in the world and propose solutions. Evaluate the success of participants in the process of horticultural training. Argumentatively discuss with clients, the engineering community and society as a whole orally and in writing, using professional terminology and using a foreign language. Participate in teamwork and business decision-making in companies, local and state administration bodies and scientific research institutions in the field of horticulture. Independently organize and manage business in the domain of horticultural production on a family farm or in an agricultural enterprise. Lead professional projects from individual segments of horticultural production.
