9. 12. 2025

As part of the AgriNext project, a series of lectures was held on family farms and the development of supplementary activities on agricultural holdings. The sessions highlighted the importance and breadth of multifunctional agriculture, which plays a key role in the resilience and competitiveness of rural areas.

Participants had the opportunity to explore a variety of business models that can strengthen the economic viability of rural households. A particular emphasis was placed on the importance of income diversification as a key factor for the long-term sustainability of small producers.

The lecture also focused on the development of tourism, educational, and processing activities on family farms. Numerous examples of good practices from Croatia and Europe were presented, demonstrating how innovation in rural environments contributes to local development and community wellbeing.

Participants learned how to properly plan and initiate supplementary activities, while the discussion reaffirmed that family farms are essential drivers of sustainable development, guardians of tradition, and pillars of cultural identity in rural areas.
